Learn More About Katie Baney
Katie Baney grew up in the De Pere-Ledgeview area and is a De Pere High School and UW-Madison graduate. The daughter of a Navy Senior Chief, Katie’s parents chose to raise their family here after retiring out of Pearl Harbor. She has called Wisconsin home for almost 30 years.
Katie has spent her career championing American values and protecting our constitutional freedoms. While at UW-Madison, she was nominated by Governor Scott Walker to serve as Student Regent on the Wisconsin Board of Regents, where she gained firsthand experience in higher education policy and governance. Katie served on the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs under Chairman Ron Johnson and the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security under Chairman Mike Rogers. She previously held key roles supporting Speaker Paul Ryan and worked with the Wisconsin Republican Party to help elect strong conservative candidates across the state.
For the past five years, Katie has worked in the private sector for Delta Defense LLC, the service provider for the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA). In this role, she has existed at the intersection of government and business. She has worked tirelessly to advocate for responsible gun owners and the fundamental right to self-defense.
As a working mom who balances career, family, and community, Katie understands the real challenges facing northeast Wisconsin families: rising costs and an affordability crisis, property tax increases, school oversight, access to childcare, and the need for practical solutions that put families first. She is running for Wisconsin State Senate because she is committed to ensuring this area remains one of the best places in America to live and raise a family.
Katie’s identity is rooted in her faith and a deep commitment to service. Katie and her husband, Drew, are members of Spring Lake Church. As a proud wife and mom, she’s grateful to live, work, and raise her family in the community she loves.
